I managed to ride 5 days in a row! No easy feat with my work schedule. My diesel truck also had a dead battery. Turns out you can't jump a diesel from a car battery. Typical roadblocks in the day of a property owner....you need certain equipment, but don't use it regularly, so it doesn't work when you finally try to use it.
I'm contemplating my values pertaining to my business. My priorities are safe riders (helmets for all and proper fundamentals established before advancing), happy horses (riders must ride MY way, no abuse, turn out every day, grooming with every ride, regular vet/farrier care), and rest and recharging for me (limit time in inclement weather, daily free time however brief, input from outside clinicians). These are most important and non negotiable. What suffers when it's busy? My personal rest and recharging. Usually in the form of continuing education with outside clinicians. My last event was observing a dressage show in April, at local barn Grand Oaks. Hope to take Buttercup for a lesson there, maybe compete in their next show.
Before that, I intend to try her at the playday as a gaming horse. She likes to run so we'll see.
